Dr. Jason Zalonis is originally from South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
He began his career in Miami, FL, graduating from the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1995. He then
completed 3 years of residency in podiatric medicine and surgery. He completed his first year of residency in primary
podiatric medicine at Cedars Medical Center in Miami, FL. He then completed two additional years of residency
in podiatric surgery and podiatric orthopedics at the Lebanon VAMC in Lebanon, PA. Dr. Zalonis served as chief resident
in podiatric surgery at the Lebanon VA.
Dr.
Zalonis has a strong interest in the surgical correction of debilitating foot and ankle disorders, sports medicine, lower
extremity wound care and diabetic foot care.
Dr. Zalonis believes, "The gold standard for treatment of a diabetic patient includes regular
visits with a qualified podiatric physician. By working closely with their primary physician, we
can dramatically reduce the number of amputations, hospitalizations and emergency room visits of those patients afflicted
with diabetes and peripheral vascular disease."
Dr. Zalonis resides in Hummelstown, with
his wife Dr. Crystal Zalonis, an Infectious Diseases physician at the Hershey Medical Center, and their two children.
