Jason Zalonis, D.P.M., A.A.C.F.A.S.

Dr. Jason Zalonis is originally from South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.  He began his career in Miami, FL, graduating from the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1995.  He then completed 3 years of residency in podiatric medicine and surgery.  He completed his first year of residency in primary podiatric medicine at Cedars Medical Center in Miami, FL.  He then completed two additional years of residency in podiatric surgery and podiatric orthopedics at the Lebanon VAMC in Lebanon, PA.  Dr. Zalonis served as chief resident in podiatric surgery at the Lebanon VA. 

Dr. Zalonis has a strong interest in the surgical correction of debilitating foot and ankle disorders, sports medicine, lower extremity wound care and diabetic foot care. 

Dr. Zalonis believes,
"The gold standard for treatment of a diabetic patient includes regular visits with a qualified podiatric physician.  By working closely with their primary physician, we can dramatically reduce the number of amputations, hospitalizations and emergency room visits of those patients afflicted with diabetes and peripheral vascular disease."

Dr. Zalonis resides in Hummelstown, with his wife Dr. Crystal Zalonis, an Infectious Diseases physician at the Hershey Medical Center, and their two children.

Nancy Snavely, Office Manager

Nancy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Capital Foot Specialists.  She was an administrator for over 25 years at Homeland, a nationally recognized nursing home in Harrisburg.  Nancy is dedicated to making your experience with us very pleasant.  Nancy acts as our office administrator overseeing every aspect of the business including billing and insurance issues. 
Nancy is a native of Hummelstown and continues to live here with her husband, Alan.  Nancy also has two daughters.
 

Sara Kunkle, Podiatric Assistant

Sara is originally from Jacksonville, FL.  She relocated to the area several years ago and is a recent graduate of Lower Dauphin High School.  She earned her podiatric assistants certificate in 2006 and is a member of the National Podiatric Medical Assistants Association.  Sara is involved with every aspect of patient care including assisting in surgery, wound care management and post-operative management.
Sara resides in Hummelstown.

 

Stephanie McCartney, Secretary

Stephanie comes to us from Greensburg, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh.  She is a former elementary school teacher who decided to put teaching on hold when her husband was transferred to the Harrisburg area.  Stephanie is very gifted in the areas of dealing with insurance companies by acting as an advocate for patients.  She also handles patient scheduling, medical referrals and surgical pre-certification. 
Stephanie resides in Hummelstown with her husband Rich and her three children.
